Welcome to my online home!

Hello everybody!  I’m glad to welcome you to my online home.  I created this page for several reasons.  First of all, I love seeing patients in the office but I realize I don’t have enough hours in the day to help everybody I want to help!  So I created a place where I can help many people at one time.  I hope you will help me pick topics for discussion that will help answer important questions for you.

Second, I wanted to create a forum for people to exchange ideas about health and wellness.  If I post something and you have a suggestion or comment, please feel free to leave one.  This is your site too!

Third, I want my patients to know me as a person in addition to my public face in the office.  If I have ten or twenty minutes with you in the office, you don’t have a lot of time to get to know me.  Here, you can browse my website, look at my posts (as I get rolling of course) and view photos and videos.  I have big plans for this site so please check back from time to time to see what’s changed!

I plan to build this site so it’s very rich with health information, but personal too.  I hope you can see through it and get to know me as a person, and let me know what will be really helpful and valuable for you in your quest to be the healthiest person you can be.

  1. Thank you Dr. Jen for bring this type of access to your patience. I will check back often. I do have one question. How do you feel about using melatonin for a sleep aid?

    • Hi Leslie! Yes, melatonin is useful in sleep problems. It’s recommended to try 2-5 mg every night. Interestingly, higher doses may not be more effective than lower ones. Those who have high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, liver trouble, glaucoma or seizures or who are or may get pregnant should discuss it with their doctor. As always, herbs and supplements are drugs and can interact with other drugs so be careful!
