Healthy Cleanse

As I wrote in a recent blog post, Shaklee has just released its Healthy Cleanse.  This is a 7-day program of clean eating and supplements to help reduce toxins in the body.

I figured if I were going to recommend the Healthy Cleanse to anyone else I’d better try it out for myself!  Since I had appendicitis almost 5 weeks ago and can tell I still have anesthetic medications floating around in my body, it’s a great time for me to do the Cleanse.

Today is Day 6 of my Healthy Cleanse.  I’d like to tell you a little bit of my experience with the Cleanse.

First of all, why would someone choose to do a cleanse in the first place?  Are you having problems with fatigue, food cravings, brain fog or digestive issues? A cleanse may help.

We are all exposed to toxic substances all day, every day.  Over time they can build up in the body, especially in the body fat.  Anyone who has had a hangover knows the effects of a buildup of toxic substances.  You can get similar but milder effects with long-term buildup.

A cleanse is a short time of less-garbage-in and more-garbage-out.  It pairs a very clean diet of vegetables, fruits, small amounts of protein and healthy fats with supplements to assist the liver in clearing toxic substances from the body.

Shaklee’s Healthy Cleanse has been validated with a pilot study.  Study participants had better digestion, better energy and focus, better sleep and felt less hungry after completing the cleanse.

The Healthy Cleanse is a great way to jump-start weight loss and fight cravings.  I’ve been struggling really hard with my sweet tooth lately, and have gained a few pounds over the summer.  My hope is that the Healthy Cleanse will turn things around for me!

Today is Day 6 of my Cleanse.  I have been very pleased with how the Cleanse has gone so far.  The first day was rough for me.  I had pretty bad fatigue, body aches and headaches.  A detox reaction is expected during a cleanse so I wasn’t concerned.  The only other cleanse I’ve done had the detox reaction at Day 4 so I was pleased it was over so quickly.

Each day since then has been better.  Today I had my martial arts class and it’s really the first time I tried to exercise since starting the Cleanse.  I got out of breath very quickly but generally managed OK, which was a surprise to me.

On Monday I will weigh in and find out how many pounds I’ve lost.  My rings are fitting much more loosely so I know I’ve lost some water weight.

Hopefully as I come off the Cleanse I’ll be able to carry forwards some of the clean eating habits I’ve used this week.  I do have some weight to lose so I will be starting back on the Life Plan this week.

Are you looking to start a weight loss program but struggling with cravings and fatigue?  Shaklee’s Healthy Cleanse may be just what you need to get you on the right track and increase your chance of success!

QUESTION:  Do you have problems with cravings that have made it hard to lose weight?
